ICO Data Protection Fee query

I have just been reading about the ICO Data protection fee, priced at £52 per year. Is this something we should all be paying as I seem to have missed this somehow?

Re: ICO Data Protection Fee query

Basically yes.
As you are processing personal data (name, address, etc) then you should have this license.
Certainly this is the case if you are running your own website. There is a view if you only sell via Amazon, eBay etc you do not need it as those websites themselves are acting as the Data Controller/Processor - it is certainly a grey area in that situation. But at £52 pa I just do not think it worth the risk as the fines for not having the license can be substantial.

Agreed, it's another tax in my opinion, but it's something you need to have
